The Legal Assistant handles administrative tasks, and therefore must be knowledgeable about legal terminology, court requirements, and deadlines. 

PRIOR EXPERIENCE AT A DEFENSE PRACTICE FIRM REQUIRED, WORKERS’ COMPENSATION DEFENSE EXPERIENCE A PLUS.

Our legal practice is continuing to grow, and we’re currently seeking a hybrid Legal Assistant/Paralegal to work out of our Atlanta office for our St. Simons office. The ideal candidate will exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, and have an ability to take initiative, and prioritize daily tasks. A strong ability to be proactive and meet tight deadlines will ensure your success in this role. This position will require some billable time entry.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting non-party discovery requests to medical providers and employers
• Following up on non-party requests to ensure responses are timely received and invoices are paid
• Drafting pleadings and written discovery templates
• Occasionally e-file pleadings and motions
• Occasionally perform fact investigations
• Operating office equipment including printers, copiers, and fax machines
• Compiling, maintaining and updating records

Qualifications:

• Prior legal experience required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite and web-based applications
