Rashad Simon was born to be a litigator. He grew up in South Florida and has lived in 3 capital cities, the other two being Boston, MA and Tallahassee, FL. After graduating law school in 2021, he decided to make Atlanta his permanent home.
While in law school, he participated in FSU’s Public Interest Law Center’s Gender and Family Justice Clinic, where he and his classmates developed a workshop for women living in Leon County Detention Facility and Gadsden Women’s prison, focusing on issues such as divorce and child custody. He also worked as a research assistant for the the Clinic, helping guide other students in their work for the clinic, as well as conducting research for clients.
During law school he was also a member of several organizations, including the Big Bend A.F.T.E.R. Re-entry Coalition (BBARC). He served on the Board of Directors for BBARC, which is a non-profit coalition that brings together diverse partners and community stakeholders to address the needs of people released from jail and prisons. It was during his time serving on the Board for BBARC and as an advocate in the Public Interest Law Center that Rashad developed a passion for litigation and helping others.
In his spare time, Rashad enjoys working out, communing with nature, playing video games, traveling when he has time, and exploring Atlanta’s nightlife.
