Melody Ellis is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and serves as Of Counsel in Drew Eckl & Farnham’s Albany, Georgia office. Her practice is focused on the defense of workers’ compensation claims, where she represents employers, insurers, and self-insured businesses throughout Georgia. She regularly advises clients on all aspects of workers’ compensation matters and provides practical guidance to help businesses manage risk and navigate complex claims.
Prior to joining Drew Eckl & Farnham, Melody served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia. Her prior legal experience also includes serving as an Assistant District Attorney representing numerous counties throughout South Georgia and as a Special Assistant Attorney General representing the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services in numerous South Georgia counties. This diverse public service background provides her with extensive litigation and courtroom experience that she now brings to the representation of employers and insurers in workers’ compensation matters.
Outside of work, Melody can often be found riding her bicycle on the back roads of South Georgia. She enjoys ultra-endurance cycling events, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
