Marion H. Martin is Of Counsel at Drew Eckl & Farnham, where she represents employers, insurers, and self-insureds in all aspects of workers’ compensation defense litigation throughout Georgia. Over the course of her career, she has she has guided clients through thousands of cases ranging from minor workplace injuries to catastrophic injuries and death claims.
With more than 30 years of experience, Marion has served as lead counsel in numerous complex cases before the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Georgia Supreme Court. Her representative matters include Caldwell v. Aarlin/Holcombe Armature Co., Sherwin Williams Co. v. Escuadra, and Distribution Concepts Co. v. Hunt. She also successfully defended one of the few COVID-19-related workers’ compensation claims tried in Georgia.
Marion advises clients across a wide range of industries—including retail, transportation, childcare, automotive, and healthcare—and is particularly valued for her pragmatic approach to resolving claims efficiently while protecting her clients’ long-term business interests. She loves to dig into the details, uncover the key facts, and turn them into strong legal strategies that achieve practical results. Marion frequently speaks at client seminars and professional conferences on developments in workers’ compensation law and has co-authored multiple editions of the Mercer Law Review’s Annual Survey of Workers’ Compensation Law.
Before joining Drew Eckl & Farnham, Marion clerked for two Georgia Superior Court Judges and practiced for nearly two decades with other Atlanta firms focused on workers’ compensation defense.
Marion is proficient in French and conversational in Portuguese. Outside of her practice, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time with her husband, two sons, and their wire fox terrier, Pete. A seventh-generation Atlantan, she brings both deep local roots and broad professional experience to every client relationship.
