Congratulations to the State Bar of Georgia's Labor & Employment Law Section and DEF Partner Dan Kniffen, who served as Chairman, for being selected as the Section of the Year for 2016-17. Under Dan Kniffen’s leadership, the section launched the Labor & Employment Mentorship Academy, a mentoring program designed to provide its less experienced members the opportunity to be mentored by those more experienced. This program is the first of its kind among State Bar Sections, and is being co-sponsored by the Georgia Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association.
“It is an honor for our Section to receive this award. The entire leadership of the Labor and Employment Section, and many of our members, worked tirelessly to create a program that would benefit our new lawyers, and I am humbled that others recognized our combined efforts,” said Dan. “It’s our hope that the Mentorship Academy will provide a template for other Sections in the Bar to help their members.”
The Labor and Employment Law Section focuses attention on all areas of labor/management-employee/employer relationships through continuing legal education. For more information go to https://www.gabar.org/committeesprogramssections/sections/laborandemploymentlaw/
