Drew Eckl & Farnham welcomed Kayla Hope as one of our 2021 summer associates. Read below to get to know more about Kayla.
What/Who inspired you to become a lawyer?
A family encounter with the legal world motivated and continues to fuel my passion for becoming a lawyer. In addition, I realized that the law influences every aspect of our society. For instance, the law dictates what ingredients can be in a particular food item. I wanted to get to know more about the concept that has a huge impact on our world. Also, the mentors I have made in the legal field continue to be an inspiration and serve as a support system while pursuing my career as a lawyer.
What are some activities you enjoy doing when you are not studying or working?
I enjoy cooking meals at home. I mostly get recipes from YouTube, or I call my family while I’m cooking for help. Also, I love traveling. So far, I’ve only been to most of the eastern states of the U.S. and four countries. I look forward to exploring more of the world. In addition, I enjoy binge‐watching new shows and old shows. Dog sitting my classmate’s and brother’s dogs, who are like mini people to me, is another pastime I love.
If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be and why?
Time travel. My favorite subject growing up was Social Studies. I enjoyed reading about ancient times and historical periods. It would be interesting to meet historical figures and to see notable events in person. However, I would be careful not to disturb anything because of The Butterfly Effect.
If you were an item in a happy meal, what would you be and why?
Definitely fries! Fries are my favorite food.
Kayla was mentored by Whitney Lay Greene and Roberto Bazzani.
