Attorney Melody Kiella was featured in the Articles of Note section for DRI’s Raising the Bar, a newsletter for the Young Lawyer Committee. Her article, “Reflections from the Past: Things I Wish I Would Have Known in My First Few Years of Practice,” provides practical advise for young lawyers based on insight learned during Melody’s eight years as a lawyer.
“Have you ever looked back at a particular moment in your past and wondered if you would have made the same decision if you knew everthing that you know now? While it is impossible to turn back the hands of time, it is possible to use your past and the mistakes that you made to grow and progress as a human being and as a lawyer. When reflecting back on my legal career, I realize that I have learned one lesson over and over again: Things are not always what they seem.”
Melody Kiella has been practicing law for over seven years as a civil litigation attorney.
