Michelle Guthrie Whitelaw focuses her practice on defending individuals and corporations in a wide variety of areas. She briefly practiced in Pennsylvania, but during her 23 years as a civil litigator, she has primarily worked in the southeastern United States, specifically Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee.
Michelle previously worked as in-house counsel for two different insurance companies giving her a unique understanding of the inner workings of the insurance industry. She has specific experience in the areas of premises, product and automobile liability and has defended individuals, businesses, houses of worship and medical entities.
Michelle is a member of the Charles Longstreet Weltner Inn of Court and has authored numerous legal articles on issues ranging from The Intra Family Immunity and In Loco Parentis to The History of Imposing Liability on Hospitals for the Actions of Emergency Room Doctors. She served as the sole presenter for a continuing legal education seminar at Jacksonville State University entitled “Issues in Nursing Home Litigation.”
Michelle is married with three children.
