Gary D. Beelen, a Partner at Drew Eckl & Farnham, is a Commercial Litigator, with a focus on Contract litigation, including Business, Vendor/Contractor, Agency, and Franchise disputes, and all aspects of Real Estate law (Commercial and Residential), including Title, Survey, Landlord/Tenant, Homeowner Association, and Real Estate Finance disputes, as well as Quiet Title actions. Gary’s clients include all forms of Commercial Business entities, Contractors/Developers, Landlords/Tenants, Real Estate Brokerages, and Athletes.
With more than 40 years of experience in Real Property law and finance, Gary is a lifelong advocate for Property Rights. He believes that protecting Property Rights goes hand-in-hand with defending Contract Rights—and ensuring clients can fully exercise both.
His background includes a decade in the residential mortgage industry, serving as a loan officer, manager, and vice president at companies including Norwest (Wells Fargo) and Shearson Lehman (American Express). He later clerked for the Ohio 7th District Court of Appeals and the Honorable Peter C. Economus of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and interned with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Before joining Drew Eckl & Farnham, Gary worked as a Closing/Title Attorney with Neal & Robinson and O’Kelley & Sorohan in Atlanta, where he also practiced Litigation. He earned his B.A. from the College of William & Mary in Government/Centrally Planned Economies in 1984 and his J.D. from the University of Akron in 1998.
