Annie Wright is an Associate in Drew Eckl & Farnham’s Civil Litigation Defense practice, where she represents clients in general liability, premises liability, and personal injury matters. Her unique background in insurance provides valuable insight into risk assessment, liability exposure, and claim evaluation, allowing her to approach litigation with both legal and business perspectives in mind.
Before pursuing a legal career, Annie worked as a licensed property and casualty insurance underwriter specializing in complex commercial risks. She underwrote coverage for businesses with unique liability exposures, including restaurants, entertainment venues, bars, and nightclubs, before moving into specialty construction insurance, where she evaluated risks involving contractors and subcontractors across a variety of trades.
Annie’s transition from insurance to law was driven by a desire to become more directly involved in dispute resolution and advocacy. During law school at Georgia State University College of Law, she served as a registered neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution, mediating landlord-tenant disputes in Fulton County Superior Court. She also worked as both a graduate research assistant and legal research assistant, focusing on communications, corporate, and business law.
Annie earned her B.B.A. in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law. While in law school, she received Academic Honors in Professional Responsibility and Trial Advocacy.
