J.C. focuses his practice in workers' compensation defense litigation representing Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 corporations, as well as other employers, insurers, and self-insured corporations ranging from retail, manufacturing, full and quick service restaurants, hotel/hospitality, nursing homes, construction companies, lumber/timber companies, road/bridge construction, and other industries. He has tried numerous cases before the Georgia State Board of Workers' Compensation, argued appeals in Superior Courts, and defended claims through the state Supreme Court level over the past two decades.
J.C. is a past nominee of the Fulton County Daily Reporter On The Rise Award and past nominee for the Top 40 Attorneys Under 40 Atlanta Business Chronicle. He has received an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale Hubbell for his high ethical standards and professionalism.
J.C. is a frequent speaker and author on workers' compensation topics. He is a Council on Litigation Management member (CLM) where he currently serves on the Education and Training and the Medical Issues in Workers' Compensation subcommittees for CLM. J.C. is a past speaker for the Fulton County Daily Report/ALM In-House Counsel CLE series on workers' compensation issues for the in-house corporate counsel and risk manager. He has held numerous leadership positions with Defense Research Institute over the past 15 years. He is a member of the American Bar Association, National Bar Association and active in a number of other bar associations and organizations dedicated to defending employers.
J.C. also serves on the firm's associate attorney review committee, the long range planning committee and other firm committees.
