Shayla J. Bivins is an associate in the Atlanta office and focuses her practice on civil and commercial litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Shayla worked as a summer associate for Drew Eckl & Farnham and joined the firm as a full-time associate in fall 2018.
While in law school, Shayla interned for the Honorable Richard W. Story in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia as well as the City of Atlanta Department of Law. Additionally, Shayla gained litigation experience as a student attorney in the Wilbanks Child Endangerment and Sexual Exploitation clinic. In this role, Shayla represented survivors of child sexual abuse in juvenile court dependency matters and civil tort litigation. Shayla was also inducted into the Orr Inn of Court and she served as the President of the Davenport-Benham Black Law Student Association.
During her undergraduate career, Shayla was a four-time letter-winner and one of the captains of the Georgia Tech women’s basketball team. She was a voting member on the Georgia Tech Athletic Association Board of Trustees as well as the NCAA Women’s Basketball committee.
In her free time, Shayla loves taking classes at Orange Theory, trying new restaurants, and attending sporting events.
