Attorney Melody Kiella Featured in DRI's August For the Defense: Is It Possible to "Have It All?"
Attorney Melody Kiella was published in the DRI's August For the Defense about her thoughts on "Having it All." This article is honest and not just for attorneys who are mothers, but all working parents.
"So, when my three-month maternity leave was over, I dropped my daughter off at daycare and drove to work looking forward to some mental stimulation and conversations with adults. Ah, but I felt guilty that day for not being one of those mothers who cries the first time she leaves her child at daycare. And I also felt guilty for actually wanting to leave my daughter for work. I wondered if something was wrong with me. Did I value my career more than my own child?"
Balance is hard. Each working parent finds a balance that is best for them. Melody allows her audience a look into how she balances her duties at work and at home.
