Karen Karabinos named DRI Women in the Law Committee's September 2019 "WITL Champion"

The DRI Women in the Law Committee featured Karen Karabinos as the September 2019 "WITL Champion". Karen, who is heavily involved in a number of committees both within DEF and outside of the firm, holds several leadership positions and utilizes these positions to help others. In this interview, Karen explains why she takes time from her legal career to contribute in various programs to support woman attorneys advancing in their careers and accomplishing their goals. 

 
"These roles have made me very visible in the firm and provide me with the unique opportunity to champion women by mentoring, marketing, advancing and planning the future for women attorneys in our firm. I am also vocal within out Women Lawyers group about being available to associates and try to create an open-door policy that makes people feel like I am approachable."

Karen Karabinos has been litigating cases for more the 32 years, with the last 21 primarily focused on the complexities of property insurance law. She also represents clients with family law issues, including divorce and child custody issues, and assists her individual clients to resolve the family issues with her domestic relations team, which consists of accountants, financial advisors, and therapists. She works to know her client’s business strategy and goals, which allows her to partner with her clients in efficiently investigating and adjusting property claims and in defending her clients in coverage, bad faith, arson, fraud, cyber and property damage cases. She represents clients in Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama.
