DEF presents Women and Wealth at NCR

Yesterday, attorneys Sonya Truman Jacobs, Karen Karabinos, Taylor Poncz, E. Kayla Chen and Juliana Neelbauer(from left to right) presented at NCR to their women’s group, WIN. They discussed financial initiatives and strategy to help the women at NCR establish security and maintain wealth. The team of DEF women had another successful presentation and great turnout!

Sonya Truman Jacob’s current practice centers on commercial and civil litigation, corporate and business transactions, contract disputes, and general liability matters. From routine disputes to multi-party litigation, Ms. Jacobs has a talent for creating progressive and innovative solutions for her clients – both large and small.

Karen Karabinos has been litigating cases for more the 32 years, with the last 21 primarily focused on the complexities of property insurance law. She also represents clients with family law issues, including divorce and child custody issues, and assists her individual clients to resolve the family issues with her domestic relations team, which consists of accountants, financial advisors, and therapists.

Taylor Poncz has been litigating cases for over a decade and focuses her practice exclusively in the defense of Workers’ Compensation claims for employers, insurers and self-insurers throughout the state of Georgia. She serves clients of all sizes across many industries, with particular experience in: construction, food & beverage, city and county government, manufacturing plants, universities, healthcare, self-insured guaranty and trust funds.

Kayla Chen focuses her practice on Trust & Estate Planning and Workers' Compensation defense. She worked as a summer associate for Drew Eckl & Farnham, LLP while attending Mercer University and joined the firm as a full-time associate in 2017. One of her most notable projects at Mercer University Law School, was her work with the Habeas Project clinic under the Student Practice Act where she gained experience writing a petition for certiorari to the Supreme Court of the United States and had a case heard before the Georgia Supreme Court.
