Thomas Whitley has joined Drew Eckl & Farnham as an associate and focuses his practice on the defense of workers’ compensation claim. Prior to joining the firm, Thomas practiced as an assistant solicitor for the City of Atlanta, where he handled the prosecution of hundreds of DUI violations and other traffic offenses. Thomas also worked in the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office as a graduate intern, and assisted with trial preparation on a number of different felony cases.  
 
He received both his J.D. and B.A. in International Affairs from the University of Georgia. While at the University of Georgia, Thomas was a co-chair for the Red Clay Conference, the law school’s annual environmental law seminar. He also gained valuable practical experience working in a small firm in Athens, in the Public Defender’s Office through participation in the Criminal Defense Clinic, and in the Mediation Practicum, where he was trained as a mediator. Also, while in school, he worked in the Office of the State Attorney General and as an intern for the Honorable Charles A. Pannell, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
