Melanie C. Eyre is Of Counsel at Drew Eckl & Farnham, LLP, where she has focused primarily upon product and automotive liability in state and federal courts. For several years she served as one of two national coordinating counsel for products liability-related discovery for a major national tire manufacturer, working extensively on discovery and pretrial matters throughout the country and providing guidance in discovery and other matters in a large, national litigation. Her work included representation on complex discovery matters in many jurisdictions, including arguing discovery-related motions in numerous jurisdictions around the country, ongoing assistance to local counsel nationwide, coordination of discovery responses and document productions throughout the nation, and assistance with related matters such as media and public relations on pressing issues. Her work included a January, 2001 appearance on the NBC news magazine Dateline in connection with a case receiving national attention.

Ms. Eyre received her J.D., with honors, in 1987 from the George Washington University National Law Center (now Law School), and her Bachelor’s Degree with High Honors in 1977 from Michigan State University. After undergraduate school and before law school, Ms. Eyre served for six years on active duty with the U.S. Navy, leaving active service in 1986 as a lieutenant (03). Ms. Eyre remained a drilling reservist throughout law school. Ms. Eyre is a member of the American Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association. She periodically teaches seminars on products liability at Georgia Tech and has taught business and employment law to undergraduates at the University of Phoenix. Ms. Eyre is also a trained mediator and arbitrator, registered with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.
