Doug Smith practices in the firm's Atlanta office. He received his B.A. cum laude from the University of South Florida in 1988 and his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1991. He was a member of his law school's International Champion Phillip C. Jessup Moot Court Team. Since law school, Mr. Smith has practiced primarily in insurance defense, representing insurers and insureds in complex coverage disputes, liquor liability, errors & omissions, trucking, and premises liability claims. He has written and spoken extensively on tort and insurance topics. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and is licensed to practice in all Georgia state and federal courts and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
