Chad Jacobs is an associate in the Atlanta office of Drew Eckl & Farnham. He is licensed in Georgia and Arkansas and represents individuals, insurance companies, and large and small businesses throughout Georgia and the Southeast. His practice includes appellate litigation, commercial litigation, collections, construction law, property, and general tort and insurance litigation in federal and state courts. Mr. Jacobs is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Arkansas Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta.
Prior to joining Drew, Eckl & Farnham, Mr. Jacobs served as an assistant attorney general in the Georgia Department of Law, where he represented the State of Georgia in non-death penalty murder appeals and in state and federal habeas corpus cases. While there, he argued multiple cases before the Georgia Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He also served as a judicial law clerk to Chief Judge Hugh W. Stone and Judge David E. Barrett of the superior courts for the Enotah Judicial Circuit in north Georgia. Mr. Jacobs earned a B.A. in history from Berry College in 1995 and a juris doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2001. During law school, Mr. Jacobs was a regional semi-finalist in the National Moot Court Competition, was named best oralist during the 2000 Altheimer (intraschool) Moot Court Competition, and chaired the 2001 Altheimer Moot Court Competition.
