Civic and Professional Organizations

As a long-time resident of Midtown Atlanta’s business community, Drew Eckl & Farnham has been an active member of the Midtown Alliance (www.midtownalliance.org), and a sponsor of its annual meeting. The firm works with the Midtown Alliance’s Midtown Transportation Solutions on its various traffic congestion reduction programs by encouraging and financially supporting the firm’s employees’ alternative transportation methods. Through its cooperation with the Clean Air Campaign, the firm has implemented a successful teleworking program, reducing the number of daily commutes in and improving the air quality of Metro Atlanta (for media coverage of Drew Eckl & Farnham’s telework program, see www.cleanaircampaign.org; Computerworld, Aug 19, 2005; Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Apr. 16, 2006).

Throughout its history, Drew, Eckl & Farnham has supported the work of the Atlanta Legal Aid Society (www.atlantalegalaid.org), and in most recent years the firm has been a generous contributor to the Society’s annual fund-raising campaign. On a yearly basis, the firm’s associates organize an internal fund-raising drive with matching contributions to the Associates’ Campaign for Legal Services. The firm supports and one of its lawyers continues to chair the annual William W. Daniel National Invitational Mock Trial Tournament on behalf of the Younger Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia (www.gabar.org).

Charitable Organizations

Drew Eckl & Farnham has a tradition of care and compassion substantiated in a multitude of actions by the firm as a whole as well as its members individually.

As home to one of the Southeastern United States’ premier workers’ compensation defense teams, Drew Eckl & Farnham annually sponsors several events of Kid’s Chance, Inc., “a non-profit corporation originally developed by the Workers’ Compensation Section of the State Bar of Georgia,” providing “financial scholarships for children of permanently or catastrophically injured or deceased workers to complete their education” (www.kidschance.org).

In partnership with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity (www.atlantahabitat.org), several of Drew Eckl & Farnham’s lawyers joined a number of their colleagues from other Atlanta law firms in the national Buildable Hours project, every year since the project started in the Metro Atlanta area.

Several times each year, Drew Eckl & Farnham hosts an on-site blood-drive in conjunction with Life South (www.lifesouth.org).

All of the above provide but a brief insight into Drew, Eckl & Farnham’s multifaceted effort to bring about meaningful changes in its own neighborhood and the community at large. The firm has supported Earth Share of Georgia, the Bobby Dodd Institute and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation’s 3-Day Walk, and the Glynn Community Crisis Center/Amity House, Head Start and the Marty Lyons Foundation, through its Brunswick, GA office.
